Born in Maputo (Mozambique), Ilídio found in his frustration with the depreciation for what was conquered by the ancestors the motto for work.
Developing an unmistakable signature, his paintings are an explosion of warm and humid colors, loaded with energetic brushstrokes and rock symbolism found in African roots. It's from his origins that he rescues the tradition, recreating it with a contemporaneity and building his own language.
Currently the artist lives in Porto.
