Ludgero Almeida elaborates paintings that act from the study of historical realities and memory. Relying on archives, records and photographs, on historical or affective memories, it intends to think, criticize, update and challenge us to see contemporaneity in perspective. As if he were endowed with an imaginary stroboscope, he traverses and revisits places, situations, memories crystallized in everyday and social, in the collective and the individual and, through painting, makes them observable. However, these appropriations resign the images of the past giving rise to productions sometimes historically located - because they have been removed from this or that context - sometimes symbolic and difficult to situate in time, creating relationships that, while not explicit, generate layers of the sensitive, making the relationship between the real and the fictitious more complex.
