Alessio Mazzarulli began his career in the arts in 1998, modeling clay until 2000.
From the 2000s he stopped producing art due to lack of time, but resumed in December 2014. And now, Alessio Mazzarulli is living in a situation of total immersion in art, where every moment of life is an opportunity to paint.
He loves painting abstract landscapes (land, sea, urban); and sometimes he also paints people.
"For me, painting is 'blocking time' at that exact moment; it's often a fading memory, so my works of art are consumed and corroded by time.
Sometimes I paint walls that have also been eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms growing on the walls. The passage of time is the main theme of my work. I come from a fine clay modelling background, so I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my works are characterized by relief, with sculpture in mind." - Alessio Mazzarulli
