Heinz Baade (1958, Germany), based in Hamburg, his interest in the environment preservation led him to a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Applied Sciences.
With a 40 years long career in photography, he encapsulates a wide range of subjects, drawing attention to human and animal suffering. Uses analog cameras because he believes digital manipulation can rob the image’s "soul". Also, he believes that the magic of a photograph is often reinforced by the reduction to black & white, the clear image construction with sharp contrasts, directness and authenticity.
His main influences are classic photographers such as Josef Koudelka, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Andre Kertesz, and others.
