Albano Martins (Porto, 1971) is graduated in Fine Arts - Sculpture – by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto and Master in Design, Materials and Product Management by the University of Aveiro.
In his work the artist uses different means of representation, including the modeled sculpture, photography, video and 3D modeling to recreate hybrid environments of virtuality and materiality. Through sensory reinforcement, the artist enhances the artwork-viewer interaction, stressing the way we relate and express emotions.
Albano Martins takes part in several theater projects in the design and production of sets and costumes. He already has a vast exhibition curriculum and his work is represented in multiple private collections.
In parallel to his artistic activities, Albano Martins was a Professor in sculpture, drawing, and design as well as a visiting lecturer for sculpture symposiums and jury in the same academic field.
