Rute Rosas (b.1972) combines her activity as Visual Artist - Sculptor with that of Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) of the Department of Visual Arts - Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Since 1996 she has held exhibitions and conceived, participated, collaborated and organized, numerous events, group exhibitions, and workshops in several countries. Her works have been mentioned in numerous publications. She received several awards and her work is represented in several institutions and private collections in Portugal, Spain, Italy, England, and Brazil. Not privileging any medium or technique, her work results in plastic concretizations or plastic expressions - action, performance, installation, object, intervention, video, text, drawing, etc. - and that focus on concepts such as Autobiography and/or Self-representation, Experiential Experience of non-narrative discourse; Plastic expression; Time; Space; Memory; Recall; Surroundings; Sharing.
