In my works what interests me is feeling something, they are all linked to parts of my life, so they are part of me; What is more important in my works is the use of colour and the representation of light.
The ideas for creating new works come up whenever I'm creating another, so I look for suitable photographs and adapt them according to the colours they transmit to me; the materials I use are acrylic, oil, coal, dry pastel, graphite and watercolours; the themes vary from straightforward stories or criticisms to self-portraits. The influences in my work come from impressionists and post-impressionists artists, such as Gauguin, to contemporary artists such as Paula Rego and Cristina Troufa.
