I think stories make us human. Only when we tell them do we remain human. The former colonies were doubly hostage, the colonial regime that exploited them and used them to face the challenges raised by the war, abandoning them to their fate with the withdrawal of the Portuguese Armed Forces. The past is built and fed by blindness and omissions that, over the years, penetrate the memory of future generations.
