Thinking about the intimate self-portrait, we try to understand the perception of the body as an object capable of thinking about the world and what surrounds it, focusing on the discovery of points of the body that are not subject to careful observation.
The work is guided through a revealing “naturalist” aesthetic, capable of providing self-knowledge. The artworks produced are in accordance with “portions of reality” or possible pictorial representations of the perception of the body that seeks to reflect on the “inner states” of who paints (or is portrayed). Denial is sought - through the black backgrounds, in contrast to the painted illuminated members - to nullifying questions of dimension and perspective. The invisible is understood as a manifestation of the visible, proposing the analysis of self-portrait through phenomena of observation, perception, reflection, approximation, fragmentation.
The artwork dimensions/weight exceed the limits defined by our carriers.
