Head on the plate is a curious work. A serene face whose head is placed on a platter with grapes reminds us of St. John the Baptist's execution, but ... something else. This work is a still life with a pinch of sadism, inspired by the classics but with existing themes. The inspirations are many; the set design comes from the movies. The small scale of this picture makes window to an action to which can lurk, watch from afar or near to analyze with detail.
