The research that gives rise to this series focuses on a set of archives of various origins, mainly photographic, corresponding to material from the Portuguese dictatorship and the colonies.
The content of these archives is extremely important for the constitution of the Portuguese and Mozambican identity as they are devices of cultural memories and objectify the memory, symptomatize a certain event, allowing it to be reviewed, perceived, studied and also reframed over the generations. To resume them is, therefore, a political and activist act, a nod to the revisiting of a hegemonic history, which opens the possibility of reinterpreting its strata more powerfully and critically, as well as reflecting its contemporaneity in what it configures as a repetition of the modes of action.
