Portraiture is an exciting and challenging area of practice for the artist. It requires a unique combination of sensitivity to the portrait subject, accuracy, and the application of the artists own expressive language.

During a day of portrait drawing we will look at the structure of the face and an approach to drawing and mark-making. Working with portrait models participants will produce two drawn studies in the morning and a longer more completed drawing in the afternoon.

Alan Mcgowan is a recognised figure and portrait artist known for his expressive and lively figure paintings, and has shown at the National Portrait Gallery in London as well as other venues internationally.

Day and hour: November 23 | 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Recipients: From age 16 | Registration fee: €60 | Trainer: Alan McGowan | More info and registration at: info@zet.gallery
