"Homem Bobo" is one of the watercolour works in a series inspired by the avant-garde Japanese dance "Butoh". In the same way that the Butoh gesturally expresses the essence of the human soul, even if it presents its loneliest and darkest facet, the composition "Homem Bobo" is dominated by a "Man" of grotesque contours.
The moral of the children’s tale "The King goes naked" is portrayed here with a character dressed in a frilly attire but that for being transparent let us see the naked body and hump. The "king" then leaves place to the "fool" vulgarizing its true genesis.
