Adelaide Morgado’s painting values the material and spiritual dimension of Man, taking as a visual reference, the body language. It is represented, through this, a silent dialogue that communicates through gestures and overtly figurative facial expressions. The concept of human vulnerability is explored. The characters are presented in their most primitive essence: bare, unfinished, fragile and yet disturbingly beautiful. In this sense, Adelaide Morgado finds, among other artists, in Alberto Giacometti an inspiring model adapting the sculptural universe to another pictorial context that is the watercolour.
