Thinking about the intimate self-portrait, we try to understand the perception of the body as an object capable of thinking about the world and what surrounds it, focusing on the discovery of points of the body that are not subject to careful observation.
The work is guided through a revealing “naturalist” aesthetic, capable of providing self-knowledge. This work is the result of the experiences of observing, reflecting and painting, during the Residência Artística Internacional in 2019.
The pictorial expression becomes cruder - the expressive stains dance with the diagrammatic drawing. Still looking for a “Caraveggian” light treatment, we can see the influence of German culture (Expressionism, Pop Art, ..) in the most recent works.
