Los Pepes is a visual artist duo composed of Meggie Prata (1993, Lisbon) and Francisco Leal (1992, Lisbon). The background of the two artists, linked to fine arts and design, joined them in the Master of Art and Design for Public Space, where they met and formed as a team. They started their activity in 2015, in Porto. Through a symbolic and allegorical language, mostly influenced by pop art and raw art, Los Pepes have been developing work in several countries, where stands out Portugal, Poland, and Hungary. Its plastic expression, mainly linked to painting and illustration, is not related to any restriction on the formats or materials used, allowing to create a vast body of work that includes mural painting, urban installation, book illustration, linography, or painting on canvas. They are currently based in Lisbon, where they created Los Pepes Studio, a studio in Príncipe Real where they develop their work.
