zet gallery opens OPEN CALL of the 3rd edition of the ART IN PUBLIC SPACE & SUSTAINABILITY Award
The Art in Public Space & Sustainability Award is back!
Applications are open for the 3rd edition of the Art in Public Space & Sustainability Award, promoted by zet gallery and dstgroup, with the support of the Institute of Science and Innovation for Bio-Sustainability of the University of Minho.
This year, candidates are challenged to think about a work for an urban space in Barcelinhos, Barcelos.
Candidates should send their proposals by the end of May 4th, through the email email@example.com.
The winner of the first edition of the award, in 2020, was the artist Lorenzo Bordonaro (IT, 1971) and the work “Refúgio”, given to the Municipality of Braga for public use and is located in Parque de Guadalupe.
The winner of the second edition of the award, in 2022, was the Spanish collective Trashformaciones with the work “Vitrais“, given to the Municipality of Braga for public use and is located in Parque das Camélias.
This initiative aims to affirm a strategic thought about the circular economy, from the contemporary artistic creation, as pivotal within the framework of values of the dstgroup and zet gallery. Its object is the production of an artwork for the public space of the city of Braga that integrates, fundamentally, industrial waste and/or waste that comes from the construction and demolition of buildings.
