Born in Vila Verde, Braga, he attended the Faculty of Medicine in Porto and Lisbon, then enrolled at the Superior School of Fine Arts in Lisbon. He taught projection draw and perspective in António Arroio School. He entered the pharmaceutical industry and remained there until his retirement. He began to paint again at this point in his life, returning to his true passion and no longer stopping. He paints with acrylic, usually on canvas, abstract works of art.
