Joaquim Jesus seeks not only to awake the observer's feelings, but also to make him question the foundation of what is being presented. Assuming that perception comes from and reveals more of our own nature than of the nature of the images, Joaquim questions the art categorization and our need of ordering concepts into generic classifications.
Joaquim's work results in a series of images created with alternative photographic processes that give origin to monochromatic spots, generating a chemical and gestural language that may recall Millares or Motherwell influences.
