Weekend Suggestion: ‘Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse’ at the Royal Academy

Using Monet as a starting point, this Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse exhibition examines the gardens and their role among the evolution of art from the early 1860s through to the 1920s. In this show you will be able to discover the paintings of some of the most important Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and Avant-Garde artists of the early twentieth century, in a mix of art, culture and history. So, floral masterpieces by Monet, Renoir, Matisse, Cezanne and Manet are abundant.

This exhibition is co-organised by the Royal Academy of Arts and the Cleveland Museum of art.
